As far as I'm conerned Its Better then any other mini game there is. PERIOD.
And if Anet nerfs it well thats par for course. I just hope they reliase there are plenty that liked it, and take that into consideration for a arena or something like it for "NF Only". And keep the PvP pureists in their frelling box where they belong. The rest of the gaming world is much more rich and diverse without them.

AB isn't fun unless you buy Nightfall.
The addition of heroes in alliance battles is a poor one. For one thing, those who purchase Factions do so with the understanding that it is a stand-alone campaign. One of the features of the Factions campaign is alliance battles, but if it becomes impossible for those without heroes to compete in those battles they will no longer be able to enjoy that feature.
Secondly, when I decide to engage in an alliance battle I look forward to playing with other players not NPCs.

they should make it not work there, but add an arena that allows groups of 8(plus any heros) fight one another. so you can party up with 7 other people and you can all bring heros and put it in a high level elona city. one of the mains.

Well, to even think that heroes already make the PvE(some) from co-operative mission to single player mission, anything further GW will become single player game instead of multiplayer online game e.g. most of the mission is doable with yourself + heroes and henchmen.
It's not the concept where you take out the real player and slap in AI, it's more like an issue where players have the option and more likely to bring NPCs that generally is better than most PUGs. Ability to bring heroes into AB without bug will sure kill the AB, as it'll be a 3 + 9 heroes v 3 + 9 heroes games instead of 12 v 12 PvP. Although co-ordinated PvPer should roll over heroesway/henchway.

but that one group of 3+9 doesnt make the whole team to fight the other group of 12 humans. you can have 4 parties of 4 people like regular...but then say that every single person on one team has heros...it doesnt stop other humans from playing...it just makes it a 48v12!!! i dont care how organzied that 12 is....the 48 WILL win....unless there are 3 or 4 minion masters on the 12...then it would be really interesting!

All I can say is WOW!!!
I haven't done an alliance battle in so long because I could never get into groups in a timely fashion, even though once you did, people wouldn't follow directions anyways.
These heroes now follow me around, and spike my targets, top notch stuff. My Blight hero didn't even die once during the battle.
Love it. Almost like having guildies in my party

I hope that they take it out of alliance battles, but then create a new pvp mode (probably in the next chapter though) that allows at least 8 players per team+heros. Heros don't belong in alliance battles, but it sure does seem awsome to have that many people in a pvp team!

Most definitely /signed. I bought the original Guild Wars, and even Factions thinking I'd be able to get a full war-like game experience like in WoW Battlegrounds (the only awesome part of WoW that makes it much better thatn Guild Wars, in my opinion). Factions came closer, but still nothing compared to Battlegrounds. This 48 vs 48 thing sounds perfect.

I will concede that factions itself needs to secure itself up from this. BUT I still want an option IN NIGHTFALL for this to work. FOR NIGHTFALL USERS!!! Its just a matter of adding a Map-point for it on NF map and linking NF users from GH to it, and factions users to the original. This should be possible. the addition of Hero Alliance battles will be HUGE and add the unintentional Value added feature to Nightfall. What was done by mistake is proving to be an EXTREAMLY popular PvP / PvE feature for nightfall / factions owners.
However that being said, its also worth noting that Heroes can go to UW and fissure, They can go into the tombs, they CAN to Prophecies missions and factions missions with you as they go along. In effect making every mission a 2 player mission with heroes... Which is nice for those small groups of friends. and for things like Titan quests... and Sorrows Furnace... which finding a good group for can be quite difficult.
OK the bad news... They eat up your drops BIG TIME. Did a few Fissure runs and not one shard. a couple keys, and a few dyes, but no shards, not one.
UW, Same thing NO ECTO. Nadda!!! However it is lots easier to go all the way to far south regions in UW now with heroes by your side instead of trying to fill out an impossible 8 player party for actually playing in the UW and not just 1 man or 2 man farming it... Or getting people leaving cause nothing is dropping for them. So finally these areas are accessible..
Finally Elite missions. They too are playable with heroes. Does this give NF owners an UNFAIR advantage? no they paid for it. Is it an advantage? You bet. The ability to drop the lousy PUGs in favor of superior Hero henchies that YOU control, and be able to play with a few or just 1 friend that has the same is exactly the feature NF offered and came through with.
If you want the same advantage... Get Nightfall. Pretty simple solution if you ask me...
PS: you know for that mater I saw no place to actually FORM alliances in Nightfall at all... is that considered a dead feature in Nightfall? Humm....

I actually came to GW because of battlegrounds. It didn't help that my main was on the realm with the worst alliance/horde ratio of any server, on the alliance. People complain when it takes 5 minutes to get into Aspenwood, it took 40 minutes MINIMUM to get into WSG or AB in WoW, and usually 2 hours to get into Alterac Valley. The best part is, doing just about anything in WoW requires a 1-2 hour commitment, so the timers were just long enough to be agonizing and just short enough that you couldn't kill time doing a dungeon run. Then of course, I get in and get instakilled by premades decked out in raid epics.
40v40 arenas would be great, but they need to be able to fill that much too, and the rewards need to match. ABs often have trouble getting both sides to field 12 people.

I think that The heros should be limited to filling in for ppl, like when u have to wait for 3 million restarts. They don't follow anyone and have paths of thier own to take. They will have 4-10 ranomizing paths of which they follow till they die, then it changes to another one. And with the random paths it's harder to trap them. Just a thought.
OR the heros are limited to only when a faction has stayed in the extreme home (Ancestral Lands or Kaanai Canyon) for more than 9 hours. The home side (AL=Kurx KC=Lxn) with get the benifits of the heros. After 9 hrs of staying in the homeland each person is allowed one hero. another 6 hours pass and u get another hero, making 2. And then if 3 hours pass u can use all three heros. So if u stay in one place for 18+ hrs, then u get heros to help. again, just a thought. Oh and if u advance to etran or grenz then the heros go away.

It made AB a whole lot quicker aswell i loved it.
But its been fixed now
Back to the slow boring grind for faction...
